One of Jon's Ideas - WAG

Draft

In a high school weather class, I asked a lot of questions and there were not a lot of answers. Mother Nature’s water cycle is a very complicated series of processes that we still do not fully understand. So after Katrina hit New Orleans, I started to ponder where and how do these storms get their power and energy. Also, how could we use this energy.

The text books say that a small cloud system comes off the African coast and heads westward over the warm Atlantic ocean water. The energy is from that warm water. The system builds as it travels over more warm water until it hits land and then the system weakens. Sometimes this is just a storm, sometimes it is a tropical storm and the larger storms are hurricanes.

Well, I have observed that on a clear day in the Bahamas, the ocean temperature can be 97° and the ambient air temperature is 98° and there was not a single cloud in the sky. This should be the ideal conditions for adding energy to a weather system. This condition is known as a High pressure system and is marked with a H on weather maps. The L or low pressure systems are where all the clouds are and that is were all the energy is first stored and later released as rain and wind.

So water is heavy, about 8.5 pounds a gallon. Storing that much weight up in a cloud is storing kinetic energy. Making all that wind and rain during a storm is releasing kinetic energy.

So, if we could understand this process and use parts of the process to produce an alternative source of energy, we could all be much greener. Text books state that a cloud droplet is created when water vapor nuclides on a small particle in the atmosphere. Well, I believe that this is true by only a small percentage of the time. 100% when man seeds the clouds to make rain.

This is what my WAG (wild ass guess) is: Out of plants that use the sun’s light for energy, through the respiration process a molecule is released that floats upwards until it finds it’s equilibrium, that is were the clouds are. This molecule contains water, oxygen and nitrogen. The H2O is modified so the covalent bond is moved to a higher shell with two Ns and two Os wedged in between the h and o(s)of the water elements. This is like a balloon or maybe a like a snow flake. The density of this balloon is the same as the air pressure is where the clouds are. Different plants release their own version of this so the density varies, so we get ground fog up to those high thin clouds we see 24 hours before a storm.

When are these balloons released from the the plants? Well, not during transpiration while the sun is shining and the plants are making sugar. But during respiration at night and mostly after a cloud covered day that was unproductive because the cloud cover filtered out the blue light the plants need for photosynthesis.

The Scripps Institute discovered a protein that the plants use as a sun block process. The plants use the protein and other molecules to block the ultraviolet light so the plant cells DNA won’t burn up from too much ultraviolet light. At night the plants reset hoping for blue light the next day so sugar can be produced. Through respiration, the balloons / sun blocks are releases, floating upwards and builds larger clouds systems. Now you have air that is made up of these balloons . The density is much lower than the high pressure system I described above. As these molecules float upwards they create wind. Air must move in to replace the balloon that floated up. High pressure wind blowing towards the low pressure. As these balloons pop, even more air must rush in to fill the vacuum.

Now I live in the San Francisco Bay Area about 30 miles inland. We get a great amount of fog that streams in during the summer months. These balloons are not that light and come from a plant of the coast that is a fog producing specialist. I think it may come from the kelp forest off the coast. The scenarios, a cloudily day before, the kelp release their balloons at night to reset, the fog forms, the off shore winds drives the fog inland to where I am and what do I see. I see lot of water visible droplets floating in the air. They must be hollow inside or like a soap bubble in order to float through the air like that. Then I observe the fog burning off. Foggy air to clear sunshiny air. Just as this change occurs, there is a lot of wind. As the bubbles pop or the balloons pop the water is released as the 8.5 pound water, either liquid or water vapor, o2 and N2. These elements now displace 50-60% of the volume they did as a balloon. So a lot of wind must rush in to equal the pressures.
The oxygen becomes O2 and the six Nitrogens become 3 N2. I told you it was a BIG WAG. Actually, I have not worked out the chemical process yet, but I think the results is in proportion to what our atmosphere is. 80% nitrogen 19% O2. Before the plants developed this sun block, I believe the atmosphere was much thinner. That's is why the animal and plant life was so much larger. Also, why there was so much dead plant material to make the crude oil we enjoy today as our energy source.

So lets go back to the plant cells. Photosynthesis is a two step process. During the first step the cells expands the water molecule only part way and does this at night as part of the respiration process. In the morning if there is blue sunlight the cells make their sugar by separating the oxygen from the hydrogen using energy from sunlight. If there is cloud cover and the plants makes it's sun block by building a large molecule with the expanded water O2 and nitrogen. After sunset the plant must expel this sun block during respiration process and that is how I see mother nature building low pressure systems.

So, I would like to build a pond, feed waste to plants in the pond. Build a blue light filter that will cover about 15% of the surface area. This filter would be an inverted cone or funnel. There will be a wind generator to capture the upwards draft. The electricity from these mechanical generators would be used to simulate lighting then special filters would catch the hydrogen and oxygen release from the expander water molecule. If I am right we can then burn the hydrogen and oxygen to generate clean, green energy at a positive because the plant cell already did most of the work.

Note: Could the blue light filters also be a solar panels that uses the blue light to make electricity but allows the ultraviolet light to pass through..

How is this different from the way we now produce oxygen and hydrogen? The plant cell expanded the h2o molecule already, the amount of electricity required to separate the oxygen from the hydrogen should be much less and if the the electricity used is from a generator in the top of the inverted funnel all the energy that is generated from burning the oxygen and hydrogen should be a big plus. Sun light in and electricity out. Should be much more efficient then today's solar panels.

Observations:
Storms grow stronger at night.
Storms grow stronger over water.
Low pressure systems are associated with clouds.
High pressure systems are associated with clear skies.
Pure water has no foam on the surface.
Foam on water indicates impurities in the water.
The film of foam also makes bubbles we can not see.
Lighting through the air will result in h2o ➡h & O2. This is how high winds are powered.
When a bubble pops water with 8.5 lbs. is released as rain or snow and O and O becomes O2. N and N becomes N2. Wind from the high pressure must rush in to fill the vacuum.
The wind blows towards the low from all direction , building a storm surge.

If you can help develop my WAG into a theory, please contact me. My intent is to gift these ideas to the world as my contribution to humanity. To do this, I will need all kinds of help, as it take more then one to make a village.
